Relaxation Meditation Techniques Can Make the Workplace Stress Free
Relaxation Meditation Techniques Can Make the Workplace Stress Free By Michael Summer
Relaxation meditation techniques can make you feel unstressed in minutes. Relaxation meditation techniques are not exactly what you might think of as traditional meditation. Instead, they are a quick way to relieve the tension that you might find in your muscles after a long and stressful day of work.
Relieving tense muscles is a great way to relax, and at the same time clear your head. Many offices now even provide stress breaks right at work, and use relaxation methods to relieve tension and refocus for the rest of the work day.
How to Perform Relaxation Meditation Techniques
One of the relaxation meditation techniques that you can do alone or in a group involves stretching. Stand up, and take a few moments to relax and clear your mind. Then, you will start the session by relaxing your facial muscles.
In order to do this, push up on your eyebrows with your index fingers and push down on your cheeks with your thumbs. Hold this position for about ten seconds. Release your fingers and let the muscles around your eyes relax.
After a minute of relaxing and keeping your mind clear, drop your head forward to your chest for about ten seconds to relax your neck. The slowly drop your head to the left shoulder for about ten seconds. Drop your head back, and then to your right shoulder for about ten seconds each. Repeat this process going in the opposite direction.
Next, interlock your fingers and raise them over your head. Straighten your elbows and rotate your palms upward. Let your arms fall backward until you feel resistance in the shoulders. Stretch your arms back for about ten seconds and then unlock your fingers and let them dangle at you sides.
Finally, let you head drop to your chest and let your spine roll down one vertebrae at a time until you are almost touching your toes. Let your arms dangle loosely as you bend forward and exhale at the same time. Let your upper torso relax for a moment and then inhale as you straighten up.
Exhale one more time and shake everything loose. You should feel relaxed and refreshed.
Other Relaxation Meditation Techniques
Similar relaxation meditation techniques include tightening every muscle in your body and then relaxing it. Start by clenching your fists as tightly as you can for about ten seconds and then release them completely. This should immediately relieve some tension. Try this with all of your muscles, one at a time, and when you are finished you should feel completely stress-free.
There are many more relaxation mediation techniques including those that involve other disciplines like yoga. Many of these relaxation methods do not require a lot of prior relaxation experience, so they are really helpful if you are just learning the benefits of meditation.
